HOLLYWOOD STUDIO CASE STUDY Problem: A prominent Hollywood film and television studio is comprised of Executives, specialty divisions and independent production companies. All of these entities were using many different software applications for their daily work. There was no solution with continuity for these offices to log phone calls, keep track of script submissions and keep all the information organized in a shareable/relational database. Call lists or phone logs were confined to the desktop only and not available on mobile devices, making constant contact with the office a necessity if an Executive wanted to know what calls had come into the office. |
Solution: inEntertainment was able to come in with a standardized software suite that is specifically designed for the workflow within the entertainment industry and is compatible with both PC and Macintosh platforms. All individual databases are located on a centralized server, but separated for individual office privacy. Office users were able to select available modules, according to the modules that suited them most, within the inEntertainment software suite. Now, Executives are able to track phone calls with the Call List module and use the robust Addresses module to keep the office organized and efficient. Independent production companies are able to use the same modules and in addition, the Projects and Properties modules allow them to keep track of incoming screenplays and projects currently in production and allows them to track outgoing script submissions. Within the Calendar module, all users are able to create appointments and keep track of tasks such as option dates. With inEntertainment for the Blackberry® SmartPhone, the office phone log syncs with the inEntertainment server, providing the user a real time link to the office. It also give the Blackberry® SmartPhone user the ability to change or update information from the road and place calls directly from the linked Call List module. Support is identical across the two platforms and the ability to add users or change module access is done from a centralized Admin module. Support for database maintenance and programming is performed and programmed by inEntertainment at no additional cost. Updates are automatically downloaded by the inEntertainment application to the user's desktop, so IT support for updates is unnecessary. |
